"In my Thesis the study helped in developing the recommendation which may facilitate to have adequate daylighting in ground floor residences for different functional spaces with regard to obstructions/orientations in hot and humid climate. The same was validated through simulation in Ecotect by considering 1/5th, 1/6th and 1/7th of the carpet area of the room for all the different buildings which were considered earlier. It was observed that few functional spaces require change in the window opening percentage w..r.t., the carpet area, so as to achieve the required illumination as per the National Building Code 2016. The area of the opening was increased from 1/8th to 1/5th, 1/6th and 1/7th in a few functional spaces based on the orientation and obstructions."

"Further research can be integrated with thermal, ventilation and indoor air quality to arrive an integrated solution for different climatic zones in residential buildings. It can also be integrated to derive the percentage of window openings with respect to the floors and obstructions. The study may also be extended for different buildings such as Institutional and commercial buildings to size the windows for adequate daylight."
