My Ph D research examined in depth about the thermal comfort conditions in the classrooms of seven higher educational institutes in the hot and humid climate of Vijayawada. The obtained results questioned the existing thermal comfort standards by giving additional information about the comfort band and thermal neutrality temperatures for naturally ventilated classrooms in this region. The results of research inform that the existing thermal comfort standards may not be applicable universally in all the habitations due to variations in climatic and socio-cultural contexts. It will help in the formulation of separate thermal comfort standards by expanding the present comfort band. Further, research needs to be carried in all the climate or regional contexts for better understanding of the occupants’ thermal comfort perceptions. Completed an International Project Building Inclusive Communities (BInUCom), an Erasmus Plus project funded by European Union. Recipient of ICCU-UNESCO fellowship by Ministry of cultural affairs, govt of Japan.
Based on the Ph d work and other research interests, the research on the following activities is taken up.
1. ustainable materials and construction techniques
2. Role of Green materials in Climate Change Resilience in Urban Areas.
3. Climate Change mitigation and adaptation for natural resource Management.
4. Adaptation of Vernacular wisdom in contemporary Architecture in hot-dry climate in the context of Indian sub-continent.
5. Energy Efficiency and Urban Resilience
