Duties and Responsibilities of Deans
    He or she will advise the Director in matters related to:
  • (a) Deputation of faculty to various institutions under Quality Improvement Programs (QIP) as per rules applicable to them.
  • (b) Advising the Director on deputation of the faculty members to various conferences, seminars, short-term courses, training programmes, foreign teaching, training assignments, etc.
  • (c) Chairing committee meetings for the evaluation of papers submitted or to be submitted to conferences/seminars by the faculty members.
  • (d) Assisting the Director in organizing training programmes for faculty.
  • (e) Assisting the Director in maintaining discipline and work ethos among the various departments and faculty members.
  • (f) Assisting the Director in maintaining high academic standards and achieving academic excellence in the school.
  • (g) Supervising faculty discipline, integrity, and commitment.
Welfare measures for the faculty of SPA Vijayawada
  • In the last Direct Faculty Recruitment Process, out of the total number of the selected candidates, 50% were from SPA Vijayawada who have been selected for the higher posts through open advertisements.
  • Prof. Dr. Kailasa Rao M., Professor, Department of Architecture, has been appointed as the Director, School of Planning and Architecture Bhopal and he is On Deputation at present.
  • Prof. Dr. Ramesh Srikonda, Professor, Department of Architecture, has been appointed as the Director, School of Planning and Architecture Vijayawada and he is On Deputation at present.
  • All faculty members are provided with healthcare and medicine facilities free of cost within the campus on the spot whenever possible.
  • Reimbursement of all medical bills regarding the faculty members and their dependent family members are provided within reasonable time as per the extant applicable Govt. Rules and Regulations.
  • In addition, cashless-treatment facilities in the several reputed multi-speciality hospitals of Vijayawada have been made available to the faculty members and their dependent family members for their physical and mental wellbeing.
  • The facilities of Children Education Allowance (CEA) is available to all faculty members as per the Govt. Rules for their welfare on reimbursable basis within reasonable time.
  • The facilities of Leave Travel Concession (LTC) tours are being utilised by the faculty members as per the extant applicable Govt. Rules and Regulations.
  • All the dues admissible to Dr. S.V. Krishna Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Architecture, has been settled amicably.
  • Eligible faculty members were promoted under the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) previously.
  • The facilities of Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) has been extended to all eligible faculty members as per the Govt. Rules and guidelines. Many faculty members are deputed by the institute and have utilised the CPDA fund to attend International Conferences, Workshops, Training Programs, Short and Long Duration Courses, etc. outside India and within India to upgrade their professional skill, knowledge, and managerial acumen.   • Esteemed faculty members have also conducted various Faculty Orientation Programs, Faculty Development Programs (FDP), Short Term Courses (STC), National and International Workshops, Hands-on Training Programs inviting the experts from all over India and abroad along with in-house experts in the subject areas/domains to improve the pedagogical approach and effective teaching-learning process for the faculty members of SPAV and from other institutes and for researchers.
