View Profile →School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada (SPAV), was established on July 7, 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoE), Government of India, as an autonomous institution. SPAV is a premier Centrally Funded Technical Institution (CFTI) directly under the MoE, for excellence in the fields of Planning and Architecture. Although in its nascent stage, with experienced faculty and guest lectures by eminent visiting faculty and industry experts from all over the country, the quality of education imparted and its focus on research puts SPAV in the league of leading institutes in the country.

The Department of Architecture, SPA Vijayawada, successfully organized a one-day workshop on “Urban Housing as City-Making: From Policy to Spatial Strategy” on 27 April 2026 at the Exhibition Hall. The session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Subrata Chattopadhyay (Professor Emeritus, IIT Kharagpur), focusing on bridging housing policy with spatial planning strategies and fostering discussions on inclusive and sustainable urban development.

School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada successfully conducted a workshop on “Risk Management of Execution Delays & Cost Escalation in Infrastructure Projects” on 24 April 2026 at the Conference Hall, featuring expert sessions and MoU signing with PVP SIT.
